Mindfulness for Resilient Teenagers
(A Free Talk part of BCPA Psychology Month)
Do you know a teen who can benefit from learning skills to better manage stress, anxiety, depression, pain, and the pressures of being a teenager?
This talk is part of the British Columbia Psychological Associations Psychology Month.
The talk will provide an introduction to Mindful Awareness and Resilience Skills for Adolescents (MARS-A), a program developed at BC Children’s Hospital. It draws on the well-researched Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program and the Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) programs for adults. MARS-A reflects adolescent developmental concerns.
The talk will provide an overview of this practical and experiential program that taps into inner resources for healing and building resilience. The session will end with a Q & A.
