Interested in learning more about mindfulness?
Mindfulness is receiving much attention in the media and in the research literature on its efficacy and benefits. If you are curious as to why that is the case, then this experiential and engaging Introduction To Mindfulness: A 3 Hour Session might be a good fit. It is for beginners wanting to learn the important aspects of mindfulness and its application in daily life. Its length of time may fit for those who are not able at this time to take the in-depth eight-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program.
In this group session you will learn:
There are no pre-requisites for this workshop. Anyone can learn to practice mindfulness. It is open to anyone aged 19 years and older. Everyone will be sitting on chairs with the option of standing when you need to, stretching, and lying down. Our Centre has blankets and props that you can use to feel comfortable. Sitting on the floor is optional (i.e., not a requirement).
In this group session you will learn:
- How to develop and establish a mindfulness meditation practice.
- Learn the science behind mindfulness.
- Discover the root causes to stress, worries, and getting lost in thoughts.
- Learn ways to integrate mindfulness into daily life.
- Explore new perspectives on patterns of reactivity and “autopilot” thinking.
- Use of mindfulness to reduce stress, stay focused, be more present, and live more!
- Bring more presence to communications.
- There will be opportunities for discussions and sharing.

Fee:
$125 total (includes a mindfulness meditation audio)
Helpful Fee Info:
I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of BC. Some Extended Health plans cover Psychologist Services. Otherwise, non-reimbursed Psychologist fees are tax deductible according to Canada Revenue Agency.
Payment method:
INTERAC e-Transfer (preferred), cheque, money order, or cash.
Payment Options:
Applications completed this month will be reviewed and processed the first week on the following month. If there is space in the program and your application is accepted, you will receive a confirmation e-mail of your registration. At that time, you can either pay the full fee of $125 or pay the initial $50 amount and then balance by October 3rd. You can also contact me if you need to make a special payment arrangement.
Refund policy:
Refunds for this workshop are provided for cancellations made prior to the workshop less a $50 processing fee.
